What is the best exercise frequency?

It depends on an individuals goals, starting point, history, etc... The real answer is that some form of exercise should belong in everyone’s daily routine, even if it is walking. That being said, 2-3 resistance workouts per week depending on your current and past exercise history is usually a good start.

What is the best method of losing weight?

Weight loss depends on each individual. I work with clients to improve their physical fitness first and foremost. The goal is to work on clients’ understanding of nutrition and suggest reasonable changes to improve their relationship with food. No crash or fad diets. No fat shaming or judgement. Just education and empowerment for you to make healthier choices.

Can you prepare a nutrition plan for me?

It is outside the scope of practice for a personal trainer to tailor a specific nutritional plan for clients. The reality is sticking to the basics of nutrition will get you much further than trying to find the next “biohack” or attempt the most recent fad diet. Regular resistance training and a balanced diet is the only sustainable method of maintaining a healthy body.

For most individuals increasing their daily water intake and committing to improving the nutritional profile of their meals is already a great first step. My goal is to clarify whatever questions you may have regarding the basics of nutrition and empower you to make the correct decisions on your own.

Will lifting weights make you bulky?

This question is asked by most women during their first consultation or training session. The answer is a resounding no. Weight lifting improves lean muscle mass and increases your metabolism, resulting in a leaner frame and the body image you are actually looking for! Whether using your own body weight or other forms of fitness, developing your physical strength is empowering!

How long will it take for me to reach my goal?

It depends on your current and past level of fitness, dietary knowledge as well as a few important behavioural factors. What are your goals, and is your timeline realistic? Will your nutritional and lifestyle choices match your desired long term outcome? We can work together to find the answers to your questions and set a plan to achieve them.

Do you sell workout plans?

I do not. Programming is already highly individualized, requiring a lot of preparation and effort. Most people do not exercise on their own time despite their intent to do so. Lack of knowledge, lack of discipline, or presence of discomfort during exercise are all normal reasons to seek professional help.

When showing up is your commitment, the accountability of the appointment becomes one of the keys to your success. My proficiency is in adjusting the exercises to improve form and eliminate pain associated with movement in order progress the intensity of your workouts safely and at your pace.
